Peshawar : A terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar was foiled early Monday morning.
According to CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed, the attack occurred at approximately 8:10 am, triggering an immediate response from security forces.
An explosion was reported at the main gate of the FC headquarters, followed by heavy gunfire that continued for several minutes. Local residents confirmed hearing intense firing from the direction of the facility, sources
Security personnel swiftly engaged the attackers, successfully thwarting the assault, sources said. No casualties have been reported so far.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the site, while a heavy contingent of law enforcement surrounded the area.
Authorities have cordoned off Sunehri Masjid Road and diverted traffic toward Saddar Road as the operation continues. Security across the city has been placed on high alert.
An operation is currently underway to ensure the area is cleared and secure.
