The accused, Fazal-ur-Rehman, was arrested after 60kg of narcotics was allegedly recovered from his vehicle. His counsel, Shanzeb Khan, argued that the Rawalpindi Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had arrested Fazal-ur-Rehman on the claim that 60kg of charas (cannabis resin) was recovered from his vehicle.
He contended that the recovery was fabricated as there is no evidence to support it or eyewitness who could confirm the allegation. He pointed out that anyone could place narcotics in a parked vehicle.
He further argued that a person cannot be kept in prison for an extended period based solely on an accusation. He said that the accused has no prior criminal record and has never been incarcerated.
