The Sindh Police Games 2025 concluded with a grand and vibrant ceremony held at the Police Headquarters Garden South. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar attended the ceremony as the chief guest, where he was warmly received with a guard of honour presented by a police contingent.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by prayers and fateha at the Sindh Police Martyrs’ Memorial. The event was attended by the IGP Sindh along with all range officers and other distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Home Minister Zia-Ul-Hassan Lanjar said that holding the Sindh Police Games after twelve years is a welcome step, expressing hope that this event will now be organized annually.

He appreciated the participation of 217 women athletes and praised all players for their sportsman spirit. He announced that Karachi Range secured first position, SSU took second, while Telecom Police stood third. He added that special measures are underway to promote sports within the police, and that a summary for recruitment under the sports quota will soon be sent forward. Recruitment under the sports quota will be processed through a one-window system.

The Home Minister said that peace in Karachi directly contributes to business growth, and Sindh Police is playing an effective role in improving the city’s security. Congratulating the winning teams and players, he said that credit for the successful organization of the Sindh Police Games goes to the IGP Sindh and the Chairman of the Sindh Police Sports Board. He emphasized that a well-trained and strong police force is an effective shield against crime, while games nurture teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills.

The Home Minister directed the IGP Sindh to announce one basic increment for players who secured top positions. He added that physical, mental, and moral strength is essential in the fight against crime, and that games form the foundation of that strength.

Sindh Minister for Sports Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, in his address, said that sports keep the human body and mind healthy, and that a challenging profession like policing requires such competitions to be held every year.

IGP Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon announced that the Sindh Police Games will now be held annually. He said the Sindh Police is one of the oldest and first formal forces of the region and is being equipped with modern techniques. He added that improvements are being made in investigation and crime-related departments, and that police operations against criminals will continue with full determination. The IGP further stated that during his visits to Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Mirpurkhas, he found the police highly motivated—an enthusiasm he expects to continue in the sporting arena as well.

At the end of the ceremony, medals and shields were distributed among the winning athletes, followed by a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the sky.
