Sandra Bullock is still recounting her few moments spent with Dolly Parton.
During the premiere of Practical Magic 2, Bullock talked about working with Parton on Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.
“I hated flying for the longest time, and I used to just take a tour bus everywhere and I would sleep on the tour bus,” Bullock, 62, told People magazine.
“[Parton] came to Vegas, and she pulled her tour bus up next to mine—I think it was pink, of course—And I said, ‘Okay, So, Miss Parton, we’ve got a hotel and room for you that’s massive.’ And she goes, ‘No, I’ll stay in the bus.’ ”
In the 2005 comedy movie, Parton played a scene where Bullock’s character was mistaken for a country music icon lookalike.
Later on, Bullock remembered to asked Parton where will she do her makeup and hair.
“And she goes, ‘Oh, I’ll do it on the bus,’ ” the actress recalled.
Parton told Bullock she would also sleep on her bus, which prompted Bullock to reply, “Then I’m sleeping on the bus.”
“So she and I slept side-by-side on the bus,” the Oscar winner said.
“She’s here. She sprinkles everywhere,” Bullock added of Parton. “She’s not going anywhere.”
As soon as Miss Congeniality 2 landed in theaters, Bullock quippingly told the BBC it was “extraordinary to straddle” Parton.
“I was literally lying on top of her, and I didn’t feel comfortable with this but she looked at me and said: ‘We’re going to put the Madonna-Britney kiss to shame!’ ”
“And I thought, ‘Wow, you rock. You just rock!’ ” Bullock said in 2005. “Really, she was everything you’d want her to be and more.”
Parton died on August 25after brief battle with cancer.
