Samsung could launch its first rollable phone in 2027, according to a new leak that has revealed five flexible-display devices reportedly under development.

The device, identified by the codename Z9, is believed to be a tablet-like product with a screen that expands by rolling outward instead of unfolding through a traditional hinge. According to GalaxyClub, Samsung is currently developing five flexible-display projects with the codenames B9, H9, Q9A, Q9B and Z9.

Details about the Z9 remain limited, but GalaxyClub believes it could be Samsung’s long-rumored rollable device. It is unclear whether the product will be launched under the Galaxy Z series or introduced as a separate smartphone.

Samsung Display has previously demonstrated its Rollable Flex OLED technology, but this does not confirm that Samsung plans to release a commercial rollable device.

The launch timeline also remains uncertain. Earlier reports suggested Samsung’s first rollable device could arrive in early 2028, while the latest leak indicates that the Z9 is being developed alongside other devices that could be part of Samsung’s 2027 flexible-device lineup.

The B9 codename is believed to represent the Galaxy Z Flip 9. Samsung previously used the B8 codename for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, making the connection likely.

The leak also suggests that Samsung is continuing its clamshell foldable phone series despite earlier rumors that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could be the final model in the lineup.

The H9 codename is linked to the Galaxy Z Fold 9, following the H8 codename used for the Galaxy Z Fold 8. GalaxyClub expects both the Galaxy Z Flip 9 and Galaxy Z Fold 9 to launch in summer 2027, although Samsung has not officially confirmed these devices.

The Q9 project reportedly includes two versions, Q9A and Q9B. GalaxyClub believes one could be the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, while the other may be Samsung’s second-generation tri-fold device.

The first Galaxy Z TriFold was also developed as a variation of an existing Galaxy Fold project, which supports this possibility. However, the exact identities of Q9A and Q9B remain unclear, and Samsung has not confirmed details about these projects.

The leak follows an earlier report from South Korea claiming that Samsung could launch eight flagship devices in 2027. The lineup reportedly includes four traditional Galaxy S models and four foldable devices: the Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra and a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold.

Although the leaked codenames suggest Samsung is working on five flexible-display projects, they do not guarantee that all five devices will reach the market. Samsung has not officially announced its 2027 foldable lineup, and its plans could change before launch.
