Researchers at New York Abu Dhabi invent a new way to treat neurological disorders

Researchers at New York University Abu Dhabi have developed a new brain implant device that can deliver drugs to multiple areas of the brain with high precision, opening new horizons for treating neurological disorders. The device, called SPIRAL, consists of a thin, flexible tube designed to release medications at several points within the brain. This method allows doctors and scientists to access larger and more complex areas of the brain compared to current tools, while maintaining a small size and reducing the extent of surgical intervention. The research was led by Dr. Khalil Ramadi, Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at NYU Abu Dhabi and Tandon College at the University of Abu Dhabi
