Fresh controversy has erupted on social media following comments made by the outspoken mother of Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt about her daughter-in-law Iman Rajab during a recent podcast interview. Her remarks quickly went viral and triggered strong public backlash.
Despite experiencing turbulence in their marriage, the couple recently became parents to a baby boy. Tensions reportedly rose last month after news related to the YouTuber’s past relationships surfaced.
Although Iman briefly returned to her parents’ home, she has now gone back to her in-laws, while Rajab is currently staying in the United Kingdom due to ongoing legal issues.
Known for her bold and unfiltered personality, Rajab’s mother often appears in online content, and her statements frequently spark heated discussions. In the latest podcast, she drew a comparison between Iman and her own daughter, Ghazal, labeling Iman as “overly sensitive.” She shared that doctors had advised Iman against traveling during pregnancy, which prevented her from performing Umrah shortly after marriage.
She then contrasted this with her daughter’s travels during pregnancy, including Umrah, religious visits, and trips to northern regions.
The comparison was widely condemned by netizens, who labeled it disrespectful and humiliating for Iman. Many users accused the family of emotional insensitivity and double standards.
She further claimed that Iman does not personally address rumors and controversies and expressed hope that one day she would speak up on her own adding that she cannot be forced to do so.
