Final day of the trading week sees a balance between investor optimism and caution
Karachi: On the last trading day of the business week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a volatile session on Friday. The benchmark KSE-100 Index opened on a positive note and at one stage gained 157 points; however, selling pressure later erased early gains.
As the session progressed, the index slipped into negative territory and was last seen trading at 185,182 points, reflecting a decline of 360 points. On the previous day, the KSE-100 Index had closed at 185,543 points.
Market analysts attributed the volatility to profit-taking and cautious investor sentiment ahead of the weekend.
