Prince Harry is pressing ahead with major plans for the Invictus Games as the royal family faces ongoing controversy.

The Duke of Sussex, who is expected to travel to the UK next year for the Birmingham edition of the Invictus Games, is reportedly hopeful that King Charles III will attend the event.

While no official confirmation has been made, reports suggest Harry may invite his father to formally open the Games when they return to Britain for the first time in a decade.

Meanwhile, uncertainty continues to surround the fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s public disgrace, with the royal family said to be eager for the controversy to subside.

Amid the backdrop of royal tensions, the Invictus Games Foundation has revealed a significant development: Denmark has submitted a bid to host the 2029 Games.

In a statement, the Foundation confirmed that it recently met with representatives behind Denmark’s proposal. Officials from the Danish Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Defence, Danish Defence Command, the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark, as well as national broadcasters, took part in discussions.

The talks focused on the transformative impact the Games can have on wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans. Participants also explored how hosting the event could benefit Denmark’s veteran community and the country more broadly.

Founded by Prince Harry in 2014, the Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, sick and injured veterans. Preparations for the upcoming Birmingham Games are already underway, marking the competition’s return to the UK after ten years.

As plans move forward both for next year’s event and potential future hosts, Harry appears determined to keep the spotlight on the Games’ mission—despite the turbulence surrounding the royal household.
