Prince Harry reportedly received enhanced security during UK visit

LONDON: Prince Harry reportedly received enhanced security during his recent week-long visit to the United Kingdom, according to media reports, as discussions over his protection while in Britain continue.

The Duke of Sussex returned to the United States this week after a visit that coincided with renewed contact between King Charles III and the Sussexes, following Buckingham Palace’s announcement of a family reunion.

A friend of Prince Harry told the Daily Mail that security arrangements for the duke were significantly improved compared with previous visits, although they fell short of the full protection he had sought.

“He would have liked full security from the start, but that was not on the table,” the source said, adding that the level of protection was “considerably” increased and made the visit “much better.”

According to the report, Harry had hoped his privately funded security team would be granted access to intelligence from British security services, an issue that has remained at the center of his long-running concerns over safety in the UK.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News that the security issue remains unresolved but could still change in the future, saying the matter is “very much at the forefront” and has not been definitively settled.

The reported improvements may encourage Prince Harry ahead of his expected return to Britain in September, although no official changes to his long-term security arrangements have been announced.
