Prince George seen easing into new phase of future role

Prince George on Monday stole the show during the royal family’s joint appearance for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

Clad in a suit, the second-in-line to the British throne carried himself like a grown man as he interacted with veterans inside the Buckingham Palace, showcasing his growing role.

Those who watched him from the sidelines couldn’t help but think that at palace’s reception with his parents, the royal family made it clear that William’s eldest son is slowly easing into a new phase of his future role as a working royal.

During the tea party at the palace,  Prince William and Prince George spoke with 101-year-old veteran Alfred Littlefield.

The solider told them he was just 20 when he joined the army and swam onto the beaches of Normandy under heavy fire.

“What was it like when you were coming in?” George was heard asking with keen interest.

He behaved like a mature boy and refused to react when his youngest brother, Prince Louis, 7, imitated George doing his hair, in an effort to provoke him.

His presence at Monday’s events suggests that George’s would be a frequent sight at the royal engagements in the future.

When Prince George turns 12 in July, he will no longer be allowed to fly with his father, Prince William, due to royal protocol.

This rule, designed to ensure the monarchy’s future, prevents immediate heirs from flying together, thereby safeguarding the line of succession
