The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued an important weather advisory, forecasting a new spell of westerly winds entering the upper parts of the country from April 16 to 19.

According to the department, this weather system is likely to bring rain, windstorms, and isolated hailstorms in several regions.

Intermittent rainfall is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir during the forecast period. These areas may also experience strong winds, dust storms, and hail at some locations.

In Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, and the Galiyat, rain and windstorms are expected between April 17 and 19.

Meanwhile, cities including Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal are also likely to receive rain accompanied by strong winds and possible hailstorms.

In upper Sindh, including Sukkur and Larkana, rainfall and gusty winds are expected on April 18 and 19.

Similarly, parts of Balochistan such as Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, and Musa Khel are likely to experience rain and windstorms on April 17 and 18.

The meteorological department has warned that hailstorms could damage standing crops, especially wheat and vegetables, urging farmers to take precautionary measures.
