BISHKEK: An official reception was held in honor of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Presidential Palace in Kyrgyzstan, where Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov warmly welcomed him upon his arrival.
A red carpet was rolled out for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Presidential Palace, while the national anthems of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan were also played.
On the occasion, a smartly turned-out contingent of the Kyrgyz armed forces presented Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a guard of honor. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Sadyr Zhaparov also inspected the guard of honor.
Later, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov introduced the members of his delegation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The prime minister also introduced the members of the Pakistani delegation to the Kyrgyz president.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is in Kyrgyzstan on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov. Federal Ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan and Attaullah Tarar are also accompanying the prime minister.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and present Pakistan’s position on various regional and global issues. Shehbaz Sharif will also attend the SCO Plus summit.
During the visit, the prime minister will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of various countries attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting. The discussions will cover bilateral relations, trade and investment, regional cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
