    PM, leaders condemn Gul Plaza fire, call for swift relief and support

    Karachi: A tragic fire at Gul Plaza on M.A. Jinnah Road has claimed six lives and injured dozens, sparking nationwide grief and prompting urgent calls for relief, support for victims, and a thorough investigation.

    Prime Minister The Prime Minister expressed profound grief over the devastating fire at Gul Plaza. He emphasized that all necessary measures must be taken to protect lives and property and that affected shopkeepers and families receive full support.

    He urged all concerned agencies to coordinate effectively during rescue operations and extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the deceased, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

    Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

    Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious human lives. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

    Mohsin Naqvi stated that he shares the grief of the families equally and assured that all possible support and sympathies are with the victims.

    Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah

    Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took immediate notice of the fire and instructed the Karachi Commissioner to conduct an urgent and detailed investigation.

    He expressed sadness over the loss of lives, ordered authorities to identify the cause of the blaze, and review fire safety arrangements in the building. T

    he Chief Minister stressed strict compliance with fire safety regulations and directed that any negligence be addressed with accountability.

    He also instructed that the injured receive the best medical care and mandated fire safety audits across all commercial buildings in Karachi.

    Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah visited the site, reviewed the ongoing rescue operations, and ordered the deployment of additional fire tenders and personnel to accelerate relief efforts.

    Senior Vice Chairman of Abad

    Senior Vice Chairman of Abad, Syed Afzal Hameed, expressed deep grief over the incident, extending his sympathies to the affected families and shopkeepers.

    He described the fire as extremely tragic and called on authorities to conduct a prompt and transparent investigation. Hameed emphasized that the loss of life and property is irreplaceable and stressed that the government should provide full assistance and relief to the victims.

    Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi,

    Munim Zafar Khan, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives. He criticized the lack of effective fire safety measures in the city and urged authorities to accelerate rescue and relief operations.

    Munim Zafar Khan called for ensuring comprehensive support for the victims and top-quality medical care for the injured.

    Islamic Ulema Council

    Aslam Ghori, spokesperson for the Islamic Ulema Council, expressed deep grief over the tragedy. He condemned the loss of human lives and property and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.

    Aslam Ghori called for a transparent investigation, demanded that those responsible be held accountable, and urged authorities to strengthen fire safety measures at public spaces. He stressed the need for urgent preventive actions to avoid such disasters in the future.

    Current Status of Rescue Operations
    Rescue and fire brigade teams, including Pakistan Navy personnel with snorkel units, continue operations at the site. Authorities confirmed that two sections of the building collapsed during the fire, with six fatalities, including a firefighter, and at least 20 injured. Injured individuals were transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Trauma Centre, where some remain in critical condition.

    Officials confirmed that continuous rescue, cooling, and investigation operations are underway to minimize further loss and prevent similar incidents in the future.
