ISLAMABAD: Pakistan recorded a further increase in mobile phone imports during the current fiscal year, with total imports surpassing Rs455 billion in the first 10 months, according to official documents.

The data showed that Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs455.73 billion from July 2025 to April 2026, marking a 30.29% increase compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

During the corresponding period last year, mobile phone imports stood at Rs349.77 billion.

The report stated that mobile phone imports rose 40.71% on a year-on-year basis in April 2026.

On a month-on-month basis, imports increased by 18.70% in April compared to March 2026.

According to the figures, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs49.415 billion in April 2026, up from Rs41.63 billion recorded in March 2026. In April 2025, the country imported mobile phones valued at Rs35.12 billion.

The continued rise in imports reflects growing domestic demand for smartphones and other mobile devices despite economic challenges and pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
