Pakistan began its four-match Test series against South Korea with a 3-1 victory in the opening match at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

The home side controlled the match with a strong attacking performance, scoring two goals in the second quarter before adding another in the third quarter to secure the victory.

Sufyan Khan was Pakistan’s standout performer, scoring two goals from penalty corners, while captain Abu Bakar Mahmood added a field goal. South Korea’s only goal was scored by Ji Hun Yang.

Pakistan took a 2-1 lead into halftime after goals from Sufyan Khan and Abu Bakar Mahmood.

Sufyan completed his brace in the 36th minute with another successful penalty corner to extend Pakistan’s lead.

South Korea pulled one goal back, but Pakistan’s defense remained solid in the final quarter to seal the victory.

The second match of the Test series between Pakistan and South Korea will be played Saturday at the same venue.

The series is part of Pakistan’s preparations for upcoming international competitions.
