The Chinese delegation will visit Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi from May 8 to 14.

ISLAMABAD: A 52-member high-level Chinese business delegation has arrived in Pakistan, signaling a major step forward in economic and trade cooperation between Pakistan and China, with multi-billion-dollar agreements expected in several key sectors.

The Chinese delegation will visit Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi from May 8 to 14 for a series of high-level business meetings and investment discussions.

Officials said major agreements are being prepared under the framework of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, focusing on trade expansion, digital economy, industrial cooperation, and infrastructure development.

Business-to-business (B2B) deals are expected in sectors including e-commerce, telecommunications, solar energy, and power generation, while cooperation is also likely to increase in engineering, chemicals, textiles, and building materials industries.

In Karachi, discussions are expected to focus on electric vehicles, medical equipment, and industrial machinery, with several important investment deals anticipated during the visit.

The two sides have also reportedly agreed in principle to establish a joint Pakistan-China economic headquarters aimed at strengthening long-term trade coordination and investment facilitation.

Key meetings between the Chinese delegation and the chambers of commerce in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad have also been scheduled as part of efforts to deepen bilateral economic ties.

Analysts say the visit could mark the beginning of a new phase in Pakistan-China economic cooperation, with expectations of significant growth in foreign investment and industrial partnerships in the coming years.
