Overseas Pakistanis sent a record $3.6 billion in remittances in December 2025, showing strong confidence in the government, said Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Shehzad on Sunday.

He explained that remittances in December 2025 surpassed $3.6 billion, marking a significant rise compared to previous periods. Remittances in December 2025 were 17 percent higher than in December 2024 and 13 percent higher than in November 2025.

Khurram Shehzad also mentioned that during the first half of fiscal year 2026, total remittances reached $19.7 billion, a 41 percent increase compared to the same period last year. He expressed confidence that total remittances for fiscal year 2026 would exceed $41 billion.

Providing details by country, he said the largest inflows in December 2025 came from Saudi Arabia at $813 million. Remittances from the United Arab Emirates were $726 million, $560 million from the United Kingdom, and $302 million from the United States.

He added that the overall increase in remittances in December 2025 highlights the important contribution of overseas Pakistanis to the national economy. Khurram Shehzad said that their continued engagement ensures long-term economic stability, sustainable development, and a brighter future for Pakistan.
