PESHAWAR: The National Message of Peace Committee (NPAC) gathered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Governor House to issue a strong religious stance against terrorism and emphasize unity across Pakistan.

The NPAC held a press conference at the Governor House, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting a unanimous religious stance against terrorism and reaffirming the importance of national unity.

The province, being the most affected by terrorism, was selected as the primary focus of the committee’s efforts.

Religious leaders present at the conference declared terrorism un-Islamic and described the message of Pakistan as the strongest national consensus after the Constitution.

The committee led by Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi announced that this Friday, a “Day of the Message of Pakistan” will be observed nationwide, emphasizing solidarity with the state and armed forces of Pakistan.

Key points from the press briefing included: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa prioritized due to being the most affected by terrorist attacks.

The Message of Pakistan recognized as a fundamental national consensus and a core document after the Constitution.

All religious schools of thought jointly condemned terrorism, reiterating that it has no connection to Islam.

The committee emphasized peace, harmony, and unity, urging support for state institutions and the armed forces.

Calls were made for peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan, noting that most terrorist incidents have cross-border links. The committee visits will target areas where peace-building is most needed.

The religious leaders reaffirmed their commitment to combat sedition, labeling enemies’ support of extremists worse than historical insurgents (Khwarij).

The armed forces were hailed as protectors of Islam and peace, with their support considered a religious duty.

Islam was described as a religion of peace and love, prohibiting harm to any innocent person.

The struggle against chaos and mischief was termed “Jihad-e-Akbar” (the greater jihad).

The committee reiterated its central role in promoting peace and expressed unity among religious leadership to counter terrorism and extremism, calling for public support and cooperation with national institutions.

This event reinforces the collective religious and national resolve to oppose terrorism and uphold Pakistan’s unity and security.
