Forget trailers and giant posters — Netflix has apparently decided the best way to promote The Last House is to put an actual man inside a billboard.

The streaming giant has built a full room into a billboard on Sunset Boulevard, where actor and experiential producer Nathan Shoop is spending several days living inside the elevated installation.

Shoop entered the billboard Thursday, August 6, and is scheduled to come back down Saturday, August 8. Yes, this is apparently a real work assignment.

Netflix told The Hollywood Reporter that Shoop will “attempt to maintain a sense of normalcy over extended periods of time while ‘stuck’ in his elevated, enclosed set 30 feet above the ground at Selma Avenue and Sunset Blvd — communicating with commuters and passersby below via whiteboard as an eerie nod to the family’s own isolation in the film.”

That setup is very much on theme.

The Last House, starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, follows a family of four who suddenly find themselves sealed inside their home with no way out.

As their supplies disappear, they must figure out how to survive while confronting whatever is keeping them trapped.

Shoop is an actor and senior experiential producer based in Los Angeles, and his LinkedIn profile says his career began with acting before moving into creative production.

“My journey began in Los Angeles, where my work as an actor sparked a lifelong passion for being involved in onset productions and collaborating with creative individuals,” he wrote.

“I am driven by the process of bringing ideas to life-from inception to reality-and enjoy the challenge of streamlining production and creating memorable experiences.”
