Chase Stokes opened up about a very difficult time in his life after finishing Outer Banks.
The actor, who plays John B in the Netflix series, said he was dealing with serious health problems after filming the final season.
He later found out that his liver and kidneys were failing.
Stokes said he had many things going wrong with his health at the same time.
He also felt that his mind was not working properly. Instead of going straight back to work, he decided to take time off and focus on himself.
The star’s health problems also included very low testosterone levels as he shared that the levels were “alarmingly low” and that he needed blood tests twice a month.
He also started TMS treatment, which uses magnetic signals to stimulate parts of the brain.
Stokes said taking that break was very important for him. He explained that he needed to “take care of my body” and felt he would not have been around much longer if he had continued ignoring his health.
The actor is now doing much better after getting help.
Stokes also talked about how difficult fame became after Outer Banks turned him into a huge star.
Even walking his dog became hard when strangers took pictures of him.
Despite everything, Chase said he is grateful for the success and still has “a lot to live for.”
