    Nazia Hassan’s 26th death anniversary observed across Pakistan

    The 26th death anniversary of Pakistani pop singer Nazia Hassan is being observed on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, as fans remember the artist whose music career began when she was only 10 years old.

    Nazia started her career as a child performer and later became known for her popular songs. Her music earned her recognition in Pakistan and abroad, making her one of the country’s well known pop singers.

    Among her popular songs are “Teri Meri Aisi Dosti” and “Taali De Thallay.” Her work also brought her several national and international awards during her career, she was also honored with the Pride of Performance by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of her contribution to music.

    She born into a family that supported her musical talent, Hassan entered the entertainment industry at a young age. Her early start helped establish her as a prominent voice in Pakistani pop music.

    Her career continued to gain recognition as she reached audiences through her songs and performances. Her work became part of Pakistan’s pop music culture and remained associated with her name after her death.

    Nazia died from lung cancer at the age of 35 on Aug. 13, 2000. Her death came at a young age and marked the loss of a prominent Pakistani singer.

    Twenty six years after her death, her songs continue to be remembered as part of her musical legacy. Her early career, popular songs and national and international recognition have kept her name connected with Pakistan’s pop music history.
