JAKARTA: Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal expressed Pakistan’s strong interest in adopting Indonesia’s primary health care framework to improve community-level medical services nationwide.

Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal visited the Puskesmas Tebet Primary Health Care Centre during his official tour of Indonesia.

During the visit, the Director General Primary Care and Community Health briefed the minister on the facilities and services being provided at the basic health centre.

According to the briefing, the centre offers comprehensive primary health care services to the local population, including preventive care, health promotion, and essential medical treatment.

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal appreciated Indonesia’s primary health care model, terming it an example of an effective and people-friendly system.

“A strong primary health care system is the backbone of any sustainable health system,” Mustafa Kamal said.

He added that the Indonesian primary health care model is not only exemplary for Jakarta or Indonesia but also serves as a role model for the entire region.

The minister emphasized that strengthening primary health care can significantly reduce the burden on major hospitals.
