Pakistan’s largest volunteer network, ‘MilKar’ has bagged the Youth Excellence Award at the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Summit 2025 in Islamabad.
This is not the first achievement for Milkar, the public welfare organisation, in recognition of its services including connecting volunteers and organisations to build a better community.
Previously, Milkar had also won other national and global honours, including Commonwealth Innovation Award and P@SHA’s “Best Community Service” Gold Award.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conferred the award to Ali Saif, the youngest member of the National Youth Council (NYC) and MilKar Impact Head and Founder Climate Dost
The youngest environmental champion said that youth need to do the most work for climate change.
Talking to Geo News, he said that Pakistan is a country of youth as 70% of the its population is youth. He highlighted that youth had planted more than 100,000 trees and distributed 100,000 masks during smog crisis.
Saif said that he himself was an eco-friendly youth, and recently the organisation installed a large number of bird feeders. “I would like to request all the people to also become eco-friendly,” he appealed.
He said Milkar plans to install bird feeders all over the country by 2030.
