Karachi: The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of light to moderate rain in Karachi starting this evening, accompanied by dusty winds. The rain is expected to continue intermittently until tomorrow.

Currently, light fog is prevailing in Karachi due to high humidity levels, recorded at 86%, with gentle northeast winds blowing across the city. The rain is expected under the influence of westerly winds, offering temporary relief from the ongoing dry spell.

Across the country, most regions will experience cold and dry weather today. However, isolated places are expected to receive rain accompanied by thunder. In particular, over the next 24 hours, areas of Balochistan including Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Sibi, Kalat, and Khuzdar are likely to witness rainfall with occasional thunderstorms. Strong winds are also expected in lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Thal desert, and Balochistan during evening and night hours.

In the northern regions, mountainous areas will remain extremely cold during the morning and night. Gilgit-Baltistan will experience cold and partly cloudy weather, with severe cold in the mornings and nights. Kashmir is also expected to remain cold and dry.

Islamabad and its surroundings will see dry weather with cold conditions during the mornings and nights. Strong winds are expected during the day, while a few places in Waziristan, Lakki Marwat, Parachinar, Karak, and Bannu may experience thunderstorm rain in the evening and night.

In Punjab, most districts are forecast to remain dry with cold conditions in the morning and night, while Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas will experience cold and dry weather. Dera Ghazi Khan and Layyah districts may witness strong winds and isolated thunderstorms at night.

Sindh is expected to remain largely dry, though coastal and western districts may see partly cloudy skies by evening. Most districts of Balochistan will remain cloudy, with rain likely in Chaman, Quetta, Pishin, Muslim Bagh, Zhob, and Ziarat. Strong winds and thunderstorms may affect Barkhan, Sibi, Kalat, Kech, Panjgur, Washuk, Kharan, Khuzdar, and Gwadar.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather warnings and take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to thunderstorms and strong winds.
