UKTV bosses are reportedly hoping it will boost ratings.A television insider said it will be the first time Meghan has been on British screens in a long while.Meghan, 45, filmed the special in April during a four-day tour of Australia with Prince Harry.
Contestants were asked to make a dish “fit for a duchess,” using some of her favorite seasonal ingredients.She joined regular judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli and asked to be called Meghan.
The episode also included a video call from Prince Harry, who apparently did not know she was filming.
It aired on Australia’s Network 10 in July.There had been rumours that Meghan was in talks with the producers of the Netflix series The Gentlemen, and that this was the reason for her return to Britain with Harry.
It later emerged she had only a preliminary meeting with the show’s bosses.Meghan’s love of cooking was also on show in her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which ran for two series.
Netflix figures showed it was not among the platform’s top 300 most watched programs.The same channel also airs re-runs of older shows, including The Bill, 999 Rescue Squad and Inside the Operating Theatre.
