Man, son killed in road accident

A speeding trailer ran over a motorcycle near National Highway Beat No 16 on the Lahore-Multan Road bypass, killing a father and his teenage son and seriously injuring their relative.The deceased were identified as 55-year-old Manzoor Ahmed and his 17-year-old son, Abdul Rehman.

The injured man, 25-year-old Zeeshan, was shifted to hospital for treatment.Manzoor Ahmed and Abdul Rehman belonged to village 495/EB in Burewala, while Zeeshan was a resident of Mian Channu.The three had travelled to village 39/12-L in Chicha Watni to attend a wedding ceremony.Rescue teams reached the scene after receiving information about the accident and shifted the bodies and the injured man to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital.

Sadar Chicha Watni police and motorway police also reached the site.

Police took the trailer involved in the accident into custody and launched an investigation.
