AMSTERDAM: Madonna brought out fellow pop icon Kylie Minogue as a surprise guest during her Club Confessions performance at WorldPride early Sunday morning, delivering an unexpected reunion for fans in the Dutch capital.
The 67-year-old singer was in Amsterdam to promote her 15th studio album, “Confessions II,” which was released last month. She has been holding similar launch events at Club Confessions in Los Angeles, London, New York City and Paris. Her Amsterdam appearance coincided with the city hosting WorldPride, an international LGBTQ+ pride celebration.
During the set at AFAS Live, the pair performed “Love Sensation,” a track from Madonna’s new album. Minogue, 58, later shared behind-the-scenes footage on Instagram showing the two artists dancing and singing together on stage as confetti fell over the crowd.
“Thank you everyone at Club Confessions World Pride Amsterdam,” Minogue captioned the post.
The performance marked the second time the two have shared a stage. Minogue previously joined Madonna during the Celebration Tour for a show in Los Angeles in 2024.
Madonna had teased her appearance earlier in the week with a social media post in Dutch that translated to “I’ve got something I wanna talk about”.
The surprise collaboration also recalled a recent interview with Graham Norton, where Madonna admitted to once feeling jealous of Minogue. The singer told Minogue that her ex-husband, filmmaker Guy Ritchie, had a crush on her.
“She was so cute. I was like, ‘I’ll never be as beautiful as Kylie,’” Madonna said.
“Confessions II” has topped charts in the United Kingdom, United States and Australia. With its release, Madonna became the first U.S. female artist to earn a No. 1 album across five decades.
Earlier this year, Madonna kicked off Pride Month with a surprise pop-up concert in New York’s Times Square and performed the halftime show for the World Cup.
