Washington, D.C. / Ohio: Madison Sheahan, the 28‑year‑old Deputy Director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), resigned from her federal post, to launch a campaign for the US House of Representatives in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District.
Sheahan, a close ally of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, announced her bid to challenge long‑serving Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in a district Republicans see as a key pickup opportunity this fall.
In launching her bid, Sheahan described herself as a “Trump conservative” and highlighted her work at ICE as part of her campaign message.
Before her federal role, she held leadership positions in state politics and government, including serving as political director to Noem and as executive director of the South Dakota Republican Party, and as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
