Shopkeepers attributed the decline to an LPG shipment docking at the port.
They said distributors had been supplying LPG from plants at Rs520 per kilogram, but lowered the rate to Rs490 on Monday, prompting the retail price cuts. The report noted that OGRA had set the official price for domestic consumers at Rs279.34 per kilogram for the current month.
However, consumers and rickshaw drivers continue to face hardship because retail prices have not fallen to an affordable level, and many are using LPG sparingly.
