A profound silence has fallen over the holy city of Medina as Sheikh Faisal Nauman, the revered muezzin of Masjid al-Nabawi for 25 years, passed away on December 23.

For a quarter of a century, his voice had been a spiritual anchor, calling the faithful to prayer and filling the sacred mosque with the melody of devotion.

Sheikh Faisal Nauman was laid to rest in the historic Jannat al-Baqi cemetery after the Fajr prayer, leaving behind generations of worshippers who grew accustomed to his serene and soulful Adhan.

The mosque administration shared a deeply moving video of his final call to prayer, a testament to a life spent in unwavering service to faith.

His journey as a muezzin was steeped in family tradition. His father and grandfather had also served as muezzins at Masjid al-Nabawi, a legacy of spiritual dedication spanning decades. Remarkably, Sheikh Faisal’s father began this sacred duty at the tender age of 14 and continued for over 90 years.

After his father’s passing, Sheikh Faisal Nauman took on the role, dedicating his life to guiding the faithful with his heartfelt and majestic Adhan.

Every note of his call resonated through the streets of Medina, echoing in homes and hearts, inspiring worshippers and pilgrims alike. His Adhan was more than a ritual; it was a source of peace, hope, and connection to the Divine.

Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of religious affairs for Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi, expressed his deep sorrow at the loss, offering condolences to the family and praying for the departed soul. He asked Allah to grant Sheikh Faisal Nauman the highest ranks in Paradise and forgive his sins.

The death of Sheikh Faisal Nauman marks the end of an era in Masjid al-Nabawi, where countless believers were comforted by the gentle, yet powerful voice of a man whose life was wholly devoted to calling humanity towards prayer and reflection. His legacy will echo in the hearts of the faithful for generations to come.
