27 Dresses is a romcom in which Katherine Heigl appeared more than a decade ago. Now, she said the sequel to 2008 is in the works.
“I think that we’re in talks about a 27 Dresses sequel,” the 46-year-old told E! News, adding, “which, if done right and with that cast I love so much, would definitely be something I’d be willing to sort of compromise the mom time to do.”
The Grey’s Anatomy star also said, “It would have to be done right, but you don’t want to diminish the first one at all.”
“You want to add to it. So, if we can do that and pull it off, I think that would be really fun. And I think they’re working on that,” she added.
Though details about the sequel are limited. Its original film, 27 Dresses, starred James Marsden, Judy Greer, Malin Akerman, and Edward Burns.
Earlier, Katherine reflected on her life in Utah, where she was relocated with her family.
“I have found and carved out this peace for myself and for my family, and it brings me so much joy and contentment and clarity and grounding. And I just think, ‘Why mess with that?’” she told E! News.
But the actress added, “sometimes I ask myself if I should be in the game, if I should be hustling, if I should be more ambitious. And I just think I really don’t want to.”
“If you don’t want that, then don’t do it, just because you think that’s what you’re supposed to do, or that’s what society expects from you,” the 46-year-old continued.
“Because For me, [Josh Kelley] just become, especially in this world we’ve created for ourselves out in Utah, he’s become such my person, and he has always been,” Katherine noted, while praising her husband.
