Karachi:  K-Electric has announced a temporary suspension of power at the Dhabeji Substation and Grid Station due to routine annual maintenance, which is expected to disrupt Karachi’s water supply on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) confirmed that the maintenance work will take place from 8am to 8pm, during which several key feeders supplying electricity to the Dhabeji pumping station will remain offline.

The power interruption is likely to cause a shortfall of nearly 100 million gallons of water, impacting multiple areas including Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal, DHA, Chanesar Town, Jinnah Town, North Nazimabad, and Gulberg Town.

Residents have been advised to store water in advance and adopt careful consumption practices to avoid inconvenience. Under normal conditions, Karachi receives approximately 650 million gallons daily, while around 550 million gallons are expected to be supplied during the maintenance period.
