There is a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder in Karachi today, says Meteorological Department

According to a spokesperson for K-Electric, the situation in Karachi and surrounding areas is being closely monitored ahead of the forecasted rain, and field staff remain on high alert.

The spokesperson advised residents to exercise caution when using electrical appliances during strong winds and rainfall, as unsafe usage can lead to accidents. People are also urged to maintain a safe distance from electrical wires and transmission installations.

The statement warned that obtaining electricity through illegal means or using unauthorized connections can be life-threatening. In case of emergencies, residents can contact the K-Electric call center at 118.

For safety reasons, power supply may be temporarily suspended in certain areas. Electricity will be restored after the rain subsides and field teams give clearance.

For additional assistance, residents can also reach out via K-Electric’s live app, WhatsApp, or other social media channels.
