AMMAN: Jordan’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed 10 ballistic missiles launched from Iran after 13 missiles entered Jordanian airspace on Tuesday, September. 1, the Jordan Armed Forces said, as authorities moved to secure missile debris and protect residents from possible danger.

The General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces said its air defense units were successfully intercepted ten missiles and destroyed, while the remaining three landed in remote areas away from populated communities.

The military said the operation was carried out under established defense procedures. No deaths, injuries or major property damage were reported following the missile barrage.

Military and engineering teams were sent to the locations where the missiles landed. The teams secured the impact sites and began handling the debris to prevent further risks to the public.

The Jordanian Armed Forces urged residents to stay away from any unidentified objects or missile wreckage found in their areas. The military stressed that residents should depend on official statements for reliable information about the incident and avoid spreading unverified reports.

The missile interceptions came amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran and the United States, with military activity continuing around the region.

Jordan has previously said its armed forces will take necessary measures to protect its territory and prevent threats from reaching populated areas. The country has also faced the risk of missiles and drones crossing its airspace during periods of heightened conflict in the Middle East.

The latest incident highlights the challenges facing countries near conflict zones as military operations increase across the region. Jordan’s air defenses remain on alert as authorities monitor developments and work to protect civilians.
