The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) organized its Summer Camp 2026 for students from across Pakistan, drawing more than 4,000 participants from over 18 stations nationwide.
As part of the camp, former Senator and analyst Javed Jabbar led a special session with participants, focusing on the concept of Pakistani identity and the country’s freedom movement.
Addressing the students, Jabbar described the founding of Pakistan as a unique moment in world history, one made possible through the vision, determination, and political strategy of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that despite limited resources at the time, the nation built a strong state through resolve and sacrifice.
Jabbar also spoke about Pakistan’s cultural and historical roots, noting that the country identity traces back not only to the Indus Valley Civilization but also to ancient sites like “Mehrgarh”, which date back thousands of years.
He said the Pakistani nation holds a respected place globally due to qualities like intelligence, compassion, hospitality, and tolerance.
On the topic of Kashmir, Jabbar said Pakistan has consistently supported the right of Kashmiri people to self determination as a matter of principle.
He also noted that officers in the Pakistan Army serve on the front lines alongside enlisted soldiers, pointing to the officer corps casualty rate as among the highest of any military in the world.
Jabbar concluded by describing the camp as an important initiative for building national awareness, positive values, and leadership capabilities among young people.
The camp also featured an interactive session led by Dr. Anees Ahmad, vice chancellor of Riphah International University, who spoke with students about Pakistan’s history, current challenges, future direction, and the Two Nation Theory.
Dr. Ahmad told students that the ideology behind Pakistan’s creation served as the foundation for the subcontinent’s Muslim population in their pursuit of a distinct identity and independent homeland.
He also highlighted that Pakistan’s Constitution includes broad religious, social, and legal protections for minority communities, aimed at safeguarding their rights.
ISPR’s Summer Camp 2026 brought together thousands of students from stations across the country, offering a mix of educational sessions focused on national history, identity, and civic values, alongside broader youth engagement activities organized as part of the annual program.
