Jamie Foxx had a few questions about becoming a dad again at 58.
Then Al Pacino apparently gave him all the reassurance he needed.
Foxx, who is expecting a baby with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp, admitted he was initially “a little on the fence” about starting the dad chapter again at his age.
“Being my age, I was a little on the fence,” Foxx told E! News. “But then I ran into Al Pacino a few months ago.”
Pacino, 86, welcomed a child in his 80s, so Foxx decided to seek some very Hollywood-style wisdom.
“‘I said, ‘Al, you gonna be back in the drop off line?’” Foxx joked. “I said, aw man, shoot I’m good.”
But behind the laughs, Foxx said his family has made the prospect especially meaningful. His daughter Corinne Foxx, 32, is also excited to welcome her new sibling.
Corinne knows her dad both as a father and a boss. She has worked alongside him on Beat Shazam for eight years and said his relaxed approach has taught her plenty.
“I just feel like I learned that you don’t have to be so serious to be great at your job,” she said. “You kind of set the tone for everybody on set and he does a great job doing that.”
Foxx also reflected on surviving a near-fatal brain hemorrhage in 2023, saying the experience changed how he views life.
“A few years back, I went through something horrible,” he said. “My daughter made sure I got back. Now, seeing that I have a new life and to have my daughters embrace it, that’s all that matters, you know.”
“This is part of living—having a new life to live and share with is amazing.”
