Is Prince Harry returning to the UK for himself or the Crown?

Prince Harry has been accused of trying to return to the UK more for his own benefit than to reconnect with King Charles. Recently, the Duke of Sussex’s request to review his security arrangements was approved by the UK Home Office. Officials will decide next month whether he is eligible for taxpayer-funded security after he raised concerns about his safety.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield has suggested that Harry’s main goal is to use a UK return to “revive his brand.” In an interview, she said, “He wants to promote his brand and make money through books, TV shows, or paid appearances.”

She added that Harry has long focused on a “victim narrative” that audiences have mostly rejected, and now he seems eager to change that perception. Kinsey explained that he wants to remind people of the “loved royal” image he once had while working as a senior royal.

However, she also warned that the damage to his reputation makes it hard to restore that image fully. She noted, “Ultimately, Harry wants more visibility in the UK because it helps him maintain his royal presence on the global stage.”

In short, experts believe Prince Harry’s efforts to return to the UK are as much about personal image and business opportunities as they are about royal connections.
