Howard Sterns Fantasy Football League canceled
Howard Stern’s Fantasy Football League canceled

Howard Stern’s long-running fantasy football league has been discontinued, according to comedian and former league commissioner Michael Rapaport, who broke the news on his podcast, I Am Rapaport.

Rapaport, who ran the league for years and helped turn it into a recurring pop-culture talking point on the show, said the news came as a disappointment given how much the league had grown under his stewardship.

“I took that [league] from the bottom to the top, made it a viral sensation that people ask me about every single day,” he said.

“It has come to an end. They just can’t do it anymore.”

The cancellation comes amid a broader wave of change at The Howard Stern Show following a round of layoffs earlier this summer.

Page Six reported in July that Stern let go of around a dozen staffers, including longtime on-air personalities Benjy Bronk, Jon Blitt, Memet Walker and Mike Trainor, some of whom had worked for the show for more than two decades.

The cuts came alongside a significant scheduling change, Stern, 72, is now producing just one new live show per week, a shift reportedly tied to a renegotiated contract with SiriusXM, which he extended in December 2025 for three more years.

At the time, Stern explained the flexibility was important both for himself and for longtime co-host Robin Quivers, who has been managing a stage 3C endometrial cancer diagnosis since 2012.

Reaction to the fantasy league’s end was mixed among fans on social media, with some expressing disappointment over losing another familiar segment from the show’s lineup.

Despite the cutbacks, Stern’s core senior production team has largely remained intact to support the reduced format, with the show continuing to lean more heavily on its extensive archive of past interviews and segments.
