‘Harry Potter’ holds historical global record nearly two decades later

Harry Potter has been an important part of an entire generation’s childhood but despite time passing, its legacy still stands.

The final movie of the original series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two still holds a position on the list of Top 10 biggest global opening weekends of all time.

The movie ranks at number 9 with $483M, after 15 years of its release.

Social media posts discussing the impact of the movie went viral, with fans discussing nostalgia and celebrating the enduring legacy of the movie.

Taking to X, one fan wrote, “$483M and still Top 10 after 15 years is crazy. What a film.”

Another added, “Still one of the greatest cinema experiences I’ve ever had. The Battle of Hogwarts on opening weekend was something special,” while a third chimed in, “Voldemort’s dead, but the box office numbers immortal.”

More added, “Please for the love of god, give us a Cursed Child movie,” and “I don’t know Mahn, but they need to remake this movie.”

Someone declared, “The cultural hold of that series is something else.”
