The government has extended the deadline for paying the Hajj 2026 dues by three more days, giving applicants one last chance to submit their second instalment.
According to Muhammad Umar Butt, spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, applicants must deposit their dues by Wednesday. He warned that anyone who fails to pay the second instalment will have their Hajj application cancelled.
Earlier in June, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf announced the details of the Hajj Policy 2026. He said Pakistan’s quota will stay at 179,210 pilgrims, with 119,210 people performing Hajj under the government’s regular scheme.
The private scheme quota has been cut by 50% to 60,000, which means two-thirds of the total quota now goes to the government scheme. The government scheme’s share is 66.52%, while the private scheme has 33.48%.
The minister also said that Hajj expenses under the government scheme will be between Rs1,150,000 and Rs1,250,000. The first instalment of Rs500,000 will be collected in the first week of August.
Additionally, the Saudi government has introduced strict rules for people with serious illnesses who want to perform Hajj 2026. A deportation policy has been implemented for severely ill pilgrims, under which Saudi authorities will send them back to their country, and the returning pilgrims will have to pay the cost of their travel.
