PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of a statement made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

According to sources, the notice pertains to the Chief Minister’s reportedly threatening remarks regarding government employees during a rally in Haveliyaan.

Based on monitoring reports, the ECP has decided to initiate proceedings against the CM. An important meeting has been scheduled for today to deliberate on potential legal action in this matter.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi addressing a public gathering in Haripur district had warned that if the administration or police attempted rigging, “the consequences will not be good.”

Addressing a public gathering in Haripur district, Afridi said that Pakistan’s most popular leader and his wife were in jail, while the PTI chief’s sisters were subjected to torture outside Adiala Jail.

He said that the PTI leader and his family were giving sacrifices for the country, urging people to vote for PTI in the by-election on the 23rd.
