“Dron” and smart technologies that raise the efficiency of Dubai bridges maintenance

Abdullah Lootah, Director of Road Maintenance Department and its facilities at the Traffic and Roads Authority at the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, revealed that the authority adopted a package of smart technologies, most notably the drones “Dron” and modern sensor systems, in the processes of examining bridges and tunnels and evaluating its virtual ages. Lootah stressed in an exclusive interview with Al -Khaleej that this step supports the sustainability of vital traffic assets, and ensures its operational readiness for future decades, to keep pace with international best practices and enhance the efficiency of operation and maintenance in the emirate. A qualitative shift and explained that the introduction of “drones” in the examination operations is the most qualitative shift in the accuracy of the detection of the construction situation, as these aircraft allows access to
