Dense fog has engulfed several cities across the country, severely reducing visibility and prompting the closure of multiple motorways to ensure public safety.

According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, the M-1 motorway from Peshawar to Rashakai has been closed due to poor visibility. Similarly, the M-3 from Faizpur to Darkhana, the M-4 from Pindi Bhattian to Multan, and the M-5 from Multan to Zahir Pir have also been shut.

The Lahore–Sialkot Motorway (M-11) has likewise been closed as dense fog continues to disrupt traffic flow.

The Motorway Police have warned that lane violations during foggy conditions can lead to serious accidents and have urged drivers to strictly adhere to lane discipline. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and to plan journeys during safer hours, with recommended travel time between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Issuing safety guidelines, the spokesperson advised drivers to use fog lights, avoid over speeding, and maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. Travelers have also been encouraged to remain patient and cautious while driving in low-visibility conditions.

For further information or assistance, citizens can contact the Motorway Police helpline at 130.
