    Dar, Putin commit to stronger regional collaboration – BOL News

    Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.

    According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, leaders of the SCO member states were also present during the meeting.

    During the discussion, Ishaq Dar emphasized that sustainable development depends on peace and stability. President Putin welcomed the participating leaders and noted that Russia seeks to further enhance economic cooperation across the region.

    Earlier, addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, the Deputy Prime Minister said the SCO has the capacity to play an effective regional role in responding to emergencies and fostering humanitarian cooperation.

    He added that Pakistan has developed a technology-driven and robust disaster management system and is keen to hold joint exercises with SCO partners to improve preparedness for regional disasters.

    Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

    According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar thanked the Russian Foreign Minister for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation. He also congratulated Lavrov on the successful hosting of the SCO meeting.

    Both leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan–Russia bilateral relations and acknowledged the progress achieved in recent years. They also appreciated the role of high-level engagements and institutional mechanisms in deepening bilateral cooperation.

    The two sides exchanged views on regional and global developments and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration on multilateral platforms, including the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
