Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have been the talk of the town due to their nuptials, and the couple have continued to make headlines for a number of reasons.
It has now been reported that football superstar and Rodríguez married at their new £30 million mansion near Lisbon in the presence of four witnesses and their children on Tuesday.
However, it is said that Cristiano’s family were not invited and were only informed 20 seconds before the ceremony.
Cristiano’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his three siblings, Hugo, Elma and Katia, were not present at the intimate civil ceremony, which took place at 1.30pm, according to a new local report.
Jornal de Noticias published a copy of the couple’s marriage certificate late on Thursday, saying that only four witnesses were present alongside their children.
The football star’s mother Dolores and his three siblings reportedly did not attend.
Moreover, Portuguese television presenter Cristina Ferreira also claimed the same, saying that the situation would ’cause problems.’
Speaking on the TVI programme Dois at 10, she said: ‘It will cause a lot of problems because the family wasn’t present.
‘And they shouldn’t even have known. Or if they did know, it was 30 seconds beforehand.’
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, met in 2016 and have been together ever since, sharing a blended family of five children, Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 16, twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, and daughters Alana, 7, and Bella, 3, whom he shares directly with Rodríguez.
The couple also endured the loss of Bella’s twin brother, who died shortly after the twins’ birth in 2022.
