K-pop super group BTS sparked massive excitement in Mexico City after meeting Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the National Palace, followed by a highly emotional public appearance that drew an estimated 50,000 fans ahead of their sold-out “ARIRANG” world tour concerts.

The global sensation RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook arrived in the Mexican capital as part of their highly anticipated three-night run at Estadio GNP Seguros, scheduled for Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday concert.

The shows sold out rapidly upon release, reflecting the group’s immense popularity in one of the world’s strongest K-pop markets.
Before meeting fans, BTS held a formal audience with President Sheinbaum at the National Palace.

The Mexican leader, who has previously expressed admiration for the group, described them as global ambassadors of “friendship, peace, and love,” highlighting their cultural influence beyond music.

The visit carried symbolic importance, as Sheinbaum had earlier welcomed the announcement of BTS’s Mexico tour, calling it a landmark cultural moment for young fans who had long awaited their arrival.

Following the meeting, BTS appeared on the balcony of the historic palace, where thousands of supporters gathered in Zócalo Square erupted into chants, music, and emotional celebrations.

Fans carried banners, sang along to BTS tracks, and some were visibly moved to tears as the group acknowledged the crowd.
Reports suggest nearly 50,000 fans gathered in and around the square within hours, turning the city center into a sea of lights, flags, and anticipation.

The atmosphere was further amplified by fan-led gatherings across Mexico City in the days leading up to the event, where supporters danced, shared music, and participated in themed celebrations to welcome the group.

During the balcony appearance, BTS addressed the crowd in Spanish and English, expressing gratitude and excitement for the upcoming concerts. RM told fans, “We can’t wait for tomorrow’s concert on stage. Let’s have fun together!

V also spoke directly to the audience, saying, “I have missed you all. We have missed Mexico so much. The energy here is incredible. Thank you so much for loving us. See you next time. Goodbye.”

Members RM, SUGA, and Jimin later shared moments from the gathering on social media, amplifying the global reach of the event as images and videos of the massive crowd quickly went viral.

President Sheinbaum also posted a commemorative photo from the meeting, holding a signed vinyl record gifted by the group.
In her message, she welcomed BTS as one of the most influential acts among Mexican youth, emphasizing how music continues to bridge cultural and national boundaries between Mexico and South Korea.

The scale of BTS’s arrival has also delivered a significant economic and cultural impact. According to reports, the concerts are expected to generate more than $100 million for Mexico City, further reinforcing the city’s status as a global hub for major live entertainment.

With over 136,000 tickets sold across three shows, BTS’s return marks their first performance in Mexico since 2017, when they last appeared at KCON Mexico.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming concerts, the city remains charged with unprecedented excitement, with fans and officials alike calling it one of the most significant cultural moments in Mexico’s modern entertainment history.

As BTS turns Mexico City into a global stage of music, emotion, and unity, their return proves once again that their influence goes far beyond borders it becomes a movement felt across nations.
