SEOUL: BTS has added another major achievement to its global success as its 2020 hit “Dynamite” surpassed 2.1 billion views on YouTube, further strengthening its position as one of the most widely viewed and influential music acts in the world.

At the same time, member Jung Kook’s solo track “Seven” has set a new record on Spotify, highlighting the continued global impact and strong digital performance of both BTS as a group and its individual members.

According to BigHit Music, the music video for “Dynamite” crossed the 2.1 billion mark around 8 a.m., making it the most-viewed BTS music video on YouTube.

The video added 100 million views in just nine months after previously reaching the 2 billion milestone in September, showing its sustained global popularity.

Released as BTS’s first English-language single, “Dynamite” is an upbeat disco-pop track that delivers a message of positivity and hope. The song achieved historic success by reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first K-pop act ever to top the chart.

It remained at the top for three consecutive weeks and stayed on the chart for a total of 32 weeks, marking the longest run for any K-pop artist in Billboard Hot 100 history.

The track also earned BTS its first Grammy nomination, further cementing its international recognition. In addition, it won Best Song at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and was named Top Selling Song at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, adding to the group’s growing list of global accolades.

Meanwhile, BTS member Jung Kook continues to make solo history with his track “Seven,” which has surpassed 3 billion streams on Spotify.

This achievement makes him the first Korean artist ever to reach this milestone with a single song, according to BigHit Music.

The song, released in 2023, blends a catchy melodic structure with acoustic guitar elements and UK garage-inspired rhythms, creating a sound that resonated strongly with global audiences. Its music video has also crossed 600 million views on YouTube since its release.

“Seven” made an immediate impact upon release, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching No. 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100.

It also stands as the only song released in 2023 worldwide to surpass 3 billion Spotify streams, reflecting its exceptional global reach.

BTS, currently active on its largest-ever world tour titled “Arirang,” continues to expand its global influence through both group and solo projects, maintaining strong international presence across music charts, streaming platforms, and live performances.
