BBC admits to editorial lapse in Prince Harry interview

The BBC has admitted to their “lapse” in editorial standards regarding claims Prince Harry made in his recent interview.

After the court ruled in the favor of the Home Office in Harry’s security case.

The BBC noted that Radio 4’s Today show failed to challenge the Duke of Sussex’s claim that downgrading his U.K. security was “an establishment stitch-up.”

The broadcaster also noted that Today didn’t present the position od the Home Office and Buckingham Palace.

Prince Harry also said that the King could help in the matter, not by intervening, but by getting out of the way and letting the officials do their job.

In a statement about the interview, the BBC said: “Claims were repeated that the process had been ‘an establishment stitch-up’ and we failed to properly challenge this and other allegations.”

“This was a lapse in our usual high editorial standards,” the BBC added.

Following the interview, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson responded to Prince Harry’s claims, saying: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”
