LOS ANGELES: Zahara Jolie-Pitt, daughter of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has filed a petition to legally remove “Pitt” from her surname, according to media reports.
The 21-year-old is seeking to be legally known as Zahara Marley Jolie, People reported.
Zahara filed the petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 4. The request still requires court approval before the name change becomes official.
The filing continues a trend among the couple’s children, several of whom have opted to drop “Pitt” from their public or professional names.
According to reports, Zahara had already been using “Jolie” in public settings, including her college graduation, where she was introduced as Zahara Marley Jolie. She graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
InStyle reported that a court hearing on the petition is scheduled for September 28.
Other siblings have also taken similar steps. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt legally dropped “Pitt” after turning 18 in 2024, while Maddox Jolie-Pitt has also filed to be legally known as Maddox Chivan Jolie.

The Jolie-Pitt family includes six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, with the divorce finalized in December 2024, according to People.
